Oral methotrexate is a high-risk medicine. It is usually taken once a week – question if once daily is prescribed.

  • Oral methotrexate is safe and effective if taken correctly.
  • If it is prescribed once daily, question if this is correct.
  • There are two tablet strengths: 2.5mg and 10mg – check your patient is taking the right dose for their condition.
  • Write the day of the week your patient should take oral methotrexate.
