Thanks to the many aged residential care facilities who entered into our Out damned clutter! competition in July. After careful deliberation we have picked the five winners:

  1. Mercy Parklands, Auckland
  2. Hillview Home, Te Kuiti
  3. St Johns Hill Healthcare, Wanganui
  4. Calvary Hospital, Invercargill
  5. Wyndham & Districts Community Rest Home, Wyndham

Congratulations to all the winners – enjoy the morning tea prize!

Here's a selection of before and after shots showing clutter-free environments (including clear pathways, good lighting, locked wheels and dry floors) to minimise the risk of falls. For more tips on creating a safe environment see Topic 4 in the series 10 Topics in reducing harm from falls.
